Marking the completion of the sacraments of initiation, the sacrament of Confirmation is a celebration of faith and Christian maturity. At the end of the preparation process, candidates must demonstrate commitment, understanding and active participation in the life of the Church.
At the Cathedral, the sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated when youth are at least 16 years of age and have participated in:
• two consecutive years of youth ministry / high school religious education immediately preceding Confirmation
• 12 Confirmation classes tailored specifically toward preparing youth for the sacrament of Confirmation
• a Confirmation retreat
• 20 hours of service at the parish
Confirmation classes are held Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. from January to May.
